'The Emerging Voice' Sustainability Blogging Competition Winners Announced
18 May 2010

Justmeans, in cooperation with The Global Reporting Initiative (GRI), announced today the winners of the 2010 ‘Emerging Voice’ Sustainability Blogging Competition. Justmeans, a main media partner of The Amsterdam Global Conference on Sustainability and Transparency, and the Global Reporting Initiative held the challenge to source two outstanding bloggers to participate in this year’s GRI conference.

The two awards winners are:

• Leon Kaye, editor of greengopost.com, from Los Angeles, USA
• Roselin Dey, editor of Indian Carbon Outlook, from Delhi, India

In evaluating candidates’ submissions to the competition, Justmeans and GRI considered the following qualities:

• Relevance to the Conference: Only candidates that submitted blogs relevant to the content at the conference were accepted
• Votes and Comments on Justmeans: A tally of relevant votes and comments on Justmeans
• Network of Followers: The size of the following of each blogger on third party platforms

Remarking on the response to the competition, Crystal Crawford of The Global Reporting Initiative, said “We were overwhelmed by the number of entries and the quality of the blog submissions, which included participants from all over the globe. The winning submissions were very relevant to the topics being covered at the upcoming conference and showed a high quality of writing, creativity, and the blogger’s own progressive thinking.”

The two winner bloggers will join the over 1000 expected attendees at the 2010 Amsterdam Global Conference on Sustainability and Transparency. Thousands of people from around the world are expected to follow the live blogs from the two winners, video interviews from conference attendees, and a custom tweet stream at Justmeans.com from May 26th-28th.
